Luca Zaia, dribbling show at the presentation of the Veneto Open tennis: «I’m not Sinner but I get by»

The tournament of the international women’s circuit will see 7 of the world’s top 100 tennis players in the WTA rankings compete on its courts

A long series of dribbles with the tennis racket . Thus the president of Veneto, Luca Zaia , wanted to close the press conference presenting the third edition of the  Veneto Open in style ,  drawing applause from those present. “Well, I may not be Sinner, but I can manage…(laughing emoticon ed.)”, the phrase chosen by the governor to accompany the video published among the stories of his Facebook and Instagram channels.


The tournament

The Veneto Open will take place from 16 to 23 June, one of only eight international tournaments on the major women’s circuit – the only one in Italy – on natural grass, which will see 7 of the top 100 tennis players in the world in the WTA rankings compete on its courts .

The game is being played in Gaiba, in the province of Rovigo, «a municipality of just 970 inhabitants which has invented a sporting event that competes with Wimbledon and is reconfirmed, for the third edition, as the protagonist of international tennis – commented Zaia himself on Facebook – I thank the organizers and the territory that supports this tournament, because these efforts are the nursery from which the great champions of tomorrow will be born.”
